If you enjoy climbing at the Black Cliffs, this is great news:
"Boise City personnel, in conjunction with Idaho Department of Fish and Game, consistent with the provisions of the Foothills Open Space Policy Plan, are asking the City Council's vote of approval to purchase Hammer Flat. Since Boise City codified the Foothills Policy Plan, and passed the Foothills Levy, and since Hammer Flat is considered an important part of the plan, the vote should be largely ceremonial.
That's right! The Cliffs is dead. Long live the Hammer Flat wildlife refuge.
If you are free for lunch, I strongly suggest going to City Hall at noon, Tuesday, March 9, 2010, and let the Mayor and City Council know much you approve of this long over due, highly desirable, action."
